The 2-day Inca Trail is a short but equally impressive version of the famous trek that leads to Machu Picchu. Day 1:
Start at Km 104: The trip begins with a train ride from Ollantaytambo to Km 104, where the trek begins.
Archaeological site of Chachabamba: After registering at the access control, hikers visit the ruins of Chachabamba.
Ascent to Wiñay Wayna: The route continues with a moderate ascent passing through lush jungles and waterfalls, until reaching the impressive archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna, known as “Forever Young”.
Arrival at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku): After a hike of several hours, you arrive at Inti Punku, from where you have the first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
Descent to Aguas Calientes: After enjoying the view, you descend to Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a hotel.
Day 2:
Guided tour of Machu Picchu: At dawn, you take a bus to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of approximately 2 hours. Here, hikers can explore the majesty of the Inca Citadel and learn about its history and architecture.
Free time and return: After the guided tour, there is free time to explore further, take photos and absorb the surroundings before returning to Aguas Calientes. From there, you take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then a shuttle to Cusco.

Full Itinerary
Day 1 Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Chachabamba - Wiñaywayna - Intipunku - Machu Picchu.
Our excursion starts at 6:30 a.m. from the hotel and we transfer you to Ollantaytambo station where we board our exclusive train and see picturesque landscapes, until we arrive at km 104 Chachabamba, also known as the beginning of the Inca Trail trekking for 2 days around 10 in the morning after 3 hours of walking we arrive at the archaeological site of WINAYWAYNA (2640 masl) which is the main attraction of the archaeological site of the Inca Trail, guided tour of the archaeological complex.
In the afternoon we continue our way through a semi-tropical forest to “Intipunku” (the door of the sun) where we can enjoy a panoramic visit of the majestic “Machupicchu”. Rest and after 01 hour we will arrive to the Inca City of Machupicchu, brief rest and then descend to Aguas Calientes or Machupicchu Pueblo by tourist bus, arriving at approximately 17:30, transfer to the Hotel and rest.
Day 2Tour Machu Picchu – Cusco.
Today you will visit the famous Sacred City of Machu Picchu. At the time agreed with your guide in Machu Picchu you will go to the bus station to take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu and appreciate the sunrise.
Then we will begin the tour with our guide, exploring all the famous places of the sanctuary of Machu Picchu: the temple of the sun, the royal tomb, the intiwatana, the main square, the royal room of the Inca emperor, the temple of the sun, the temple of the 3 windows, the temple of the condor and many others.
At the end of the visit of Machu Picchu you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the many restaurants located there (Lunch not included).
Time to take the train back to Aguas Calientes, be sure to arrive 30 minutes before the train departs. Our train schedule is generally at 18.20 hrs to Ollantaytambo, where you will take our tourist transport to return to Cusco city.
20.00 hrs approximately we will be arriving in Cusco.
