Day 1Cusco - Combapata - Palcoyo - Cusco

by minibus to Combapata, 3,475 masl (11,400 ft), where we make a brief stop so you can buy water, snacks and other things you need for the day.

Then, we continue the trip for another 1.5 hours, passing through the impressive landscapes of the Cusco altiplano. On the way, we observe the local people in their daily activities. We arrive at Palcoyo (4,900 meters / 16,076 feet), where our hike begins. From here, we can already see two of the rainbow mountains.

We begin the approximately 40-minute hike to reach the main viewpoint, located at 4,900 meters (16,076 feet). From this point, we have a spectacular view of the rainbow mountains and the stone forest. Here, we take our time to rest, take pictures and enjoy the unique surroundings.

Afterwards, we begin our descent, returning to the starting point in Palcoyo, where our transportation awaits to take us to a comforting lunch. Then, we return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 or 5:30 p.m., and we leave it one block away from the main square to avoid the traffic.
