Full Itinerary

Day 1 Cusco - Acomayo - Pomacanchi - Acopia - Pampamarca - Waqrapucara

Today promises to be a wonderful day. Our transportation will be ready to pick you up at your hotel around 3:30 am, prior coordination. Our first destination will be the province of Acomayo, located at 3,207 masl (10,521 ft). Here we will have the opportunity to explore the circuit of the four lakes: Pomacanchi at 3,669 masl (12,037 ft), Acopia at 3,669 masl (12,963 ft) and Pampamarca (also known as Tungasuca) at 3,780 masl (12,401.57 ft). After approximately two and a half hours, we will arrive at Qenterococha Lake, located at 4,330 masl (14,138 ft), where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast surrounded by impressive landscapes.

After breakfast, we will begin our hike to the enigmatic Waqrapukara Fortress. The average time to reach the Waqrapukara viewpoint will be approximately 2 hours. Once here, we will be able to rest a little while our professional guide shares with us information about the tourist attraction. Of course, we will be able to take pictures. Then, we will descend a steep path to Waqrapukara.

Here we will have enough time to explore the area, take pictures, enjoy the scenery and of course make contact with nature. The place is really wonderful and worthy of Instagram-worthy photographs.

To finish with the Waqrapukara hike, we will arrive at the nearest town to revitalize ourselves with a delicious menu. In this way, we will be back in Cusco at around 7:00 p.m. We are sure you will enjoy the Waqrapukara excursion with Machupicchu Andean.
