You will travel through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo, take the train to Aguas Calientes, and complete the official in-person ticket process for the following day. After spending the night in town, you will visit Machu Picchu with a professional guide and return to Cusco.

This tour requires flexibility because the entrance circuit and visiting time depend on the tickets released by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center and transfer you to Ollantaytambo train station. Pickup usually takes place between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.; however, the exact time will depend on the earliest available train to Aguas Calientes.

Your original passport is mandatory for purchasing and using the Machu Picchu ticket.
Passport details must match the information provided during the reservation.
Last-minute tickets cannot be reserved online in advance.
Ticket availability is controlled exclusively by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.
The entrance circuit and visiting time cannot be chosen or guaranteed.
Circuit 2 is the most requested and is rarely available at the last minute.
Depending on availability, you may receive Circuit 1, Circuit 3, or another officially available route.
Travelers must be flexible with entrance times, train schedules, and waiting periods.
During high season, the in-person process may involve long lines.
Your hotel must be located in Aguas Calientes because the ticket is normally issued for the following day.
The tour schedule may change after your entrance ticket is confirmed.
Train luggage restrictions normally allow one small bag weighing up to 8 kg.
Large suitcases should be left at your hotel in Cusco.
We strongly recommend keeping one additional day available in case exceptional demand affects the ticket process.
This option significantly improves your chances of entering Machu Picchu, but admission remains subject to official availability.

The guides provided by Andean Peru helped us get so much out of the diverse landscapes and expansive histories of the sites we visited. In particular, Cosme Cuba Gutierrez, who guided us through Machu Picchu, was an unforgettable individual. Not only was his knowledge of history and culture riveting, but, being a researcher and author himself, had many personal anecdotes that tied into the topics covered.
