Is it possible to make last minute reservations?
Advance reservations are recommended, but sometimes last minute reservations can be made if there is availability.
Are restrooms available during the tour?
Yes, but they are available in limited areas, such as at the starting point and lunch location.
How much time do you walk during the tour?
The hike is considered moderate and consists of two main segments:
- Ascent: Approximately 2 hours walking uphill to reach the viewpoint.
- Descent: Around 1 hour to return to the trailhead.
Along the way, your guide will give you time to rest, take photos, appreciate the quiet of the Andes, and enjoy the dramatic scenery. Depending on your pace and the weather, the entire walking experience can last 3 to 4 hours in total.
Is the Pallay Punchu Tour suitable for beginners?
Yes. The route is manageable for beginners with a moderate fitness level. The main challenge is not the distance but the altitude, which can exceed 4,700 meters (15,400 ft).
Travelers who are not accustomed to high-altitude environments may feel shortness of breath or fatigue, so it is important to be acclimatized in Cusco for at least 1 to 2 days before the hike.

No previous trekking experience is required.
However, being physically prepared and well-acclimatized will greatly improve your experience. Many first-time hikers complete the Pallay Punchu trail without issues, especially with a slow and steady pace.
What is the best time of year to do the Pallay Punchu Tour?
The best season to visit Pallay Punchu is the dry season, from April to October.
During these months, the skies are clearer and the colors of the mountain appear more vivid.
The rainy season (November to March) is still possible but the trail can become muddy and views may be obstructed by clouds or rain.
