The Classic option is a multi-day camping trek through high passes and several archaeological sites. The regulated trail network normally has an annual maintenance period around February. Exact operating notices should always be checked with the competent authorities and the operator for the year of travel. Do not interpret general Machu Picchu availability as proof that the trekking network is operating.
